A key theme in the collection is how people impact place. Here, people leave their mark on the suburban landscape, shaping the surroundings for their lives: birthday tables stand at the ready for children to arrive, goalposts are left with fluttering bits of tape after a Sunday match. The still life images are inhabited by a sort of absence, acknowledging the people outside the frame who are implicitly involved without being shown.
